Betty Clark Vaughan, of Clinton, MS, age 86, passed away Thursday, February 26, 2015. Visitation will be held Sunday afternoon from 2:00 until 4:00 at Lakewood Memorial in Jackson and the service will be Monday afternoon at 1:00 at Alta Woods Baptist Church in Jackson. The family will receive friends on Monday, one hour prior to the service.Betty was born in McComb, MS on December 12, 1928. She and her beloved husband, John Alton Vaughan, were high school sweethearts. They remained sweethearts for the 65 years of their marriage. Betty started her career with South Central Bell as an operator and retired after 44 years as a Manager of the business office in Jackson.She is survived by her two children, Pam Vaughan Allen and husband David of Clinton, and John Sheldon Vaughan of Orlando, FL along with four grandchildren, Chris Partridge and Tyler Holly (wife Becca) of Clinton and Alessandra and Gabriela Vaughan of Orlando, FL. She is also blessed with four great grandchildren, Casey and Kage Partridge and Aiden and Gage, sons of Becca Holly. She is also survived by her husband's siblings-Clef Vaughan and wife Mary of Little Rock, AR, Gloria Vaughan of Cocoa Beach, FL and Linda Vaughan Wells of Redland, CA, as well as many nieces and nephews who will miss her terribly. Betty was preceded in death by her husband in 2011. She was the last of five siblings-Hulon Clark, Mildred Clark Wooten, Hattie Clark Dunaway, and Ruth Clark Kraft, all of McComb. Her time on earth was spent giving of herself to those she loved. She was a member of Pilot Club, serving as President of the club whose focus is to help with brain injury victims. Betty was also a member of Alta Woods Baptist Church for 46 years where she sang in the choir, and taught Sunday School. She loved her family and friends, but most of all she loved her Lord. Her giving nature was felt by all who knew her.
