

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at First Baptist Church Madison. The funeral service will begin in the church sanctuary at 12 noon. A graveside service will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park at 3:00 PM.
He was born in Lake, MS on May 1, 1947 to Lonnie T. and Merlene Waltman. The family moved to Marianna, FL when Bill was 3 years old, then moved back to Lake, MS when he was 15 years old. He graduated from Lake High School where he was Mr. Lake High School. He married Anita on May 28, 1982 in Brandon, MS. He graduated from USM with a B.S. Degree in Accounting. He worked for the U.S. Army Audit Agency 1971-1975, Dept. of Energy 1975-1981, U.S. Army Corp of Engineers 1981-2002 where he was the Chief of Audit. He was honored by receiving the Meritorious Civil Service Award twice in his career from the Corp.
Bill was a faithful member of First Baptist Church Madison where he was a member of Patsy Tolleson's Bible Fellowship Group. He was a hunter and fisherman who loved spending time in the great outdoors. He and Anita loved to travel in their motorhome, tour the country and take cruises. Some words used to describe Bill by his family and friends are genuine, faithful, reliable, selfless, strong, giving, humble, compassionate, gentle, and Godly. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, Da, brother and friend.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie T. Waltman and Merlene Waltman of Lake, MS and his fathers-in-law, Nick Ackle and Raymond Donelson.
Bill is survived by his spouse of 39 years, Anita Waltman; two daughters, Tiffany Bauder (Kevin) and Courtney Scott (Greg); grandchildren, Charlie Scott, Olivia Scott, Alexis King, and Perrin Bauder; brother, Mike Waltman (Joyce) of Meridian, MS; sister, Nancy Hall (G.W.) of Lawrence, MS; mother-in-law, Yvonne Donelson; brother-in-law, Larry Ackle; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Larry Ackle, Kevin Bauder, Dwight King, Johnny McDaniel, Greg Scott, Jerry Stone, Al Waltman and Steve Waltman.
Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or First Baptist Church Madison.
