Carolyn N. Vinson, 88, passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at The Orchard in Ridgeland. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 PM on Sunday, January 22, 2017 at Lakewood Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday at 11:00 AM with visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Vinson was born in Glendora, MS on November 19, 1928 to the late John Stokes and Ruth Stanford Norwood. She was a longtime member of Alta Woods Presbyterian Church and more recently at Lakeland Presbyterian Church.
She is preceded in death by her husbands, Walton S. Wood and Dr. J.W. Vinson; parents; sister, Miriam Anderson; and stepson, Joe Vinson, Sr.
Mrs. Vinson is survived by her son, Mike Wood (Melinda); daughter, Cathy Curcio (Peter); stepsons, Michael Vinson (Doris), Bill Vinson (Dede), J.W. Vinson, Jr. (Cindi), and David Vinson (Lynn); sisters, Martha Francis and Ruth Smith; 17 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
