Carrie Faye Thibodeaux, 86 beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother went to her heavenly reward on November 8, 2021 surrounded by her family.

She was born March 2, 1935 in Talladega, AL to Allie Mae and John Thomas Lott, Sr. She is survived by her 4 children; Lynn (Sharon) Thibodeaux of Brandon, MS, Christine (Doug) Dawkins of Mendenhall, MS, Terry (Stephanie) Thibodeaux of Collierville, TN and Felecia (Steve) Malone of Pearl, MS , 9 grandchildren; Jeremy Dawkins, Melanie (Jake) Driskell, Matthew (Ashley) Thibodeaux, Christopher Thibodeaux, Rachel (John) Chavez, Mary Catherine (Matthew) Langley, Grace Thibodeaux, Clint Thibodeaux and Emily Thibodeaux and 7 great grandchildren.

She left school to marry her beloved Edward, but later attained her GED. She and Edward were members of Ridgecrest Baptist Church for over 15 years where she kept attendance for the middle and junior high school children. She and Edward attended Broadmoor Baptist Church for many years where they were known as Papa and Gigi in the nursery. She loved the Lord and shared her faith with the women of the Central Mississippi Women’s Correctional facility. She worked in retail for many years at the Emporium, Bill’s Burger House and Ulmer’s Stride Rite shoes. Later in life she was a caregiver to children and the elderly.

She was a friend to everyone and loved hugs from her grandchildren and the many children she claimed as hers. She loved fishing but she needed her Eddie or children close to take it off the hook for her. Her fun-loving personality and zest for life will be missed by many.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Alli Mae Hicks Lott, her father John Thomas Lott, Sr, her brothers, John Thomas Lott, Jr, Robert Lott, Billy Lott, and Jimmy Lott, her sisters, Frances Crawford and Mary Johnson and her husband of 46 years, Edward Thibodeaux.

I met this sweet lady while working in the activities department at The Nichol’s Center. That’s when she became my Tibby & I became her Cookie (left) She was the life of the party at our social events, when we had a guest singer, when we did our outings, & even at our bingo games. The last time I saw her we talked about all the fun memories we had in the 4 great years we’ve known each other while holding each other’s hand which was so precious. I always have & always will be thinking about her with a smile on my face and in my heart. RIP, Tibby, I love & miss you lots! ~Cookie (Allora)
