
Mrs. Cassie Mae Wooley Bailey, 89, went to be with the Lord Friday, October 11, 2013 at Baptist Health Systems, surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 13, 2013, from the Chapel of Wright & Ferguson Funeral home in Jackson. The family will receive visitors Monday, October 13, 2013, from 12 until 2 before the service beginning at 2 pm. A burial service at Lakewood Memorial Gardens will follow.
Mrs. Bailey was born on March 31, 1924, to the parents of Leon and Mamie Wooley. She married Marvin Bailey on April 26, 1947. She was a member of Alta Woods Baptist Church for many years where she was a Girls Auxiliary (GA) leader. She also was a teacher at Broadmoor Baptist Church in the English as a Second Language program. She was a Cub Scout Den leader for many years. She assisted her husband in the founding of their electrical business. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was a wonderful cook. Some of her happiest moments in life were when her large family would gather for meals.
A Godly woman, she was committed to her family with unconditional love. She is survived by her three devoted children, daughter, Donna Bailey Burch (Tim) of Pensacola FL, son, Kenneth Bailey (Betty) of Byram, MS and, son, Steven Bailey (Cyndi) of Brandon, MS; eight grandchildren, Kimberly Burch Cox (Nathan) of Spanish Fort, AL, Lauren Burch Byrd (John) of Pensacola,FL, Britny Bailey Hester (Trey) of Brandon, MS, Marvin Daniel Bailey of Florence, MS, Drew Bailey of Byram, MS, Jennie Bailey of Byram, MS, Matthew Bailey of Brandon, MS, and Casey Bailey of Richland, MS; and sixteen great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Floyd (Sonny) Wooley. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of sixty-four years, Marvin D Bailey, and her granddaughter, Elizabeth Bailey.
