Charles Robert “Bob” Bruce, 75, passed away on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at St. Dominic Hospital. A Celebration of Life will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home on Saturday, August 12, 2017, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM with a memorial service to follow in the chapel.

Bob was born in Itta Bena, MS on December 28, 1941. He was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps where he served in Japan. He was the founder and owner of Bruce Insurance Agency. He loved singing in the Parkway Baptist Church Senior Adult Praise Ministry. Bob was an avid Ole Miss fan where he was known by the students as the “Pom Pom Man”.

He is preceded in death by his parents, W. R. and Bessie Montgomery Bruce and sister, Jean Upchurch.

Bob is survived by his wife, Charlene Bruce; son, Charles “Robert” Bruce, Jr.; daughter, Christy Bruce Clark; grandchildren, Kylee Brent (Jason), Brandon Bruce (Anna Kate), and Dylan Bruce; great grandchildren, Holden Bruce, Kymber Brent, and Haleigh Bruce; sisters, JoAnn Burton, Carolyn Fondren Higginbotham, Beverly Hackleman, and Gail McGlawn; and numerous nieces and nephews.
