Charlotte K. Hays, a devoted mother, meemaw, friend, and wife lost her courageous battle to cancer and spread her wings and flew to join our heavenly Father on August, 15, 2015. Charlotte was born to Jewell Alton Knight and Grace Felder Knight in Tylertown, MS.Visitation will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home in Jackson on Tuesday, August 18 from 5-7 pm, and Wednesday, August 19, from 10-11 am, with a service following at 11am. Burial will be at Lakewood Memorial Park.Charlotte was a retired registered nurse, a job she held dear to her heart until she was diagnosed with cancer in 2001. Charlotte battled Stage IV cancer for almost eight years and was our walking miracle. Each day and each step through the Grace of God, she placed on foot in front of the other and lived her life not for herself, but for those she fought not to leave behind.She leaves behind her husband of twenty-three years, John Hays; her best friend and daughter Pam Seavey (Chuck); her two sons, Jimmy McLellan and Todd McLellan (Stephanie) of Florida; and one sister Betty Knight Ginn (Kittrell) of Starkville; her most prized grandchildren, Ashley Hasie Usry (Cade), Kristen McLellan Titus (Eric), Livie McLellan, Jeremy Wallace Townsend (Christina), Tyler Seavey, Sarah Townsend Stewart (David), Brayden McLellan, and Harrison McLellan; along with her great grandchildren, Adrienne Stewart, Camden Stewart, Shelby Grace McLellan, Libby Claire Usry, Zoe Kate Usry, and she was so excited that God's grace would be gifting her with yet another great grand in December (Alyssa Grace Townsend).
