

Clint was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He enjoyed life to its fullest, was always smiling, and always ensured those around him felt loved. Clinton Truesdale Brantley, Jr, 83 of Madison, MS died peacefully of natural causes with loved ones by his side on March 1, 2024.
He was a native of Jackson, MS, resided in Clinton MS for thirty years and lived the remainder of his life at Lake Lorman in Madison, MS. He was a graduate of Forrest Hill High School in 1958. He joined the Army out of high school and served from November 1958 – January 1962. Upon returning home to Jackson he met the love of his life, Anita Kay Chandler Brantley, where they had a short courtship and were married on September 21, 1962. They were married for over 61 years and set the example of how married couples should treat each other. In fact, their children never saw them argue their entire life. He was a member of Twin Lakes Baptist Church, Madison, MS.
Clint was a long-time employee of Mississippi Power & Light (Entergy of MS) and retired after 33 years of service. After retirement he served as Alderman of Ward 3 in Clinton, MS for eight years, and served as HOA President of Lake Lorman for two years where he enjoyed serving others in his community.
He was strong in his beliefs and lived his life in true Christian faith. He treasured time and traveling with family and friends, attending sporting events seeing each of his children and grandchildren excel at their own passions along with enjoying a passion of his own, golf, where he and his wife Anita played together for years. Through his ministry he was a mentor to many and an extraordinary example to all that knew him.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the many caretakers, nurses and doctors that tended to Clint’s every need while he was hospitalized at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 4th from 12:00 – 1:00 pm and Memorial Service at 1:00 pm at Lakewood Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 6011 Clinton Boulevard, Jackson, MS 39209. In lieu of Flowers donations can be made to Twin Lakes Baptist Church, 673 Lake Cavelier Road, Madison MS 39110.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-one years Anita Kay Chandler Brantley and two daughters Donna Kay Brantley Crabtree (Milo) and Karen Renee’ Brantley Horne (Hans), Grandchildren, Chandler Williams, Layton Horne, Brooks Crabtree (Valarie). He is also great grandfather to Bella Crabtree, Cooper Crabtree, and Isiah Crabtree. He is also survived by his brother Chris Brantley.
Clint is preceded in death by his parents Clinton T. Brantley, Sr., and Nona Ree Brantley along with three brothers Luther, Joseph, and Glenn. Also, by Robert Clinton Brantley (son) and Brett Crabtree (grandson).
