Edna Weller Miller

She was born to the late Clement and Maude Weller, December 12, 1925 in Malone, New York. She married the late James O. Miller, Sr. in 1944 and they made their home in Terry, MS after James retired from the Air Force and the VA hospital.

Edna was a dedicated, longtime nurse at University Hospital and continued her passion through private duty and hospice care.

Edna was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church and actively attended mass at Carmelite Monastery. She was a former member of St. Joseph and St. Theresa of Lisieux Order of Discalced Carmelite Secular and volunteered at Birthright.

She is preceded in death by a grandson, Matthew Fisher, a granddaughter, Alexia Laslo and a great-grandson, Michael Tasakos.

Edna is survived by five children, James and Sue Miller of Jackson; Alexia Miller of Port Angeles, WA; Alex and Julie Miller of Raymond; Lee and Lynn Miller of Chattanooga, TN; Linda and Ed Fisher of Crystal Springs; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family would like to offer a special thanks to Florine Bowdin and Angela Dixon.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to Carmelite Monastery.
