Elizabeth L Mulford

August 17, 1937 - May 7, 2025.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our cherished and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother on Wednesday, May 7th, at her daughter's home in Brandon, MS, after her battle with cancer.

Elizabeth was born August 17, 1937 in Hendersonville, TN to Elwyn Barron Turner and Ernestine Scott Turner. Her family moved back to Mississippi, where she graduated from Carr Central High School, Vicksburg, MS. After graduating high school, she attended Hinds Community College in Raymond, MS, and retired from Travelers Insurance after 27 years of service. After retirement, she helped with her grandchildren, She enjoyed gardening, sewing, crocheting, and attending her grandchildren's sporting events.

Survivors include her five children: Marilyn Powell of Brandon, Robert Powell of Jackson, Deborah Powell of Brandon, Patricia Hemphill (Dwayne) of Brandon, and Steven Mulford (Jo) of Lakeview, AL. Her eight grandchildren: Bobby Hemphill, Tyler Mulford (Eme), Christopher Hemphill (Victoria), Katelynn Powell(Justin Meche), Cody Powell (Ami), Baylee Mulford, Drew Griffin and Lauren Griffin; Four great-grandchildren: Charlie and Henry Hemphill, Charlee and Emmett Shores.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Cleveland Mulford, and two children: Virginia Ruth and Michael Powell.

A visitation for Elizabeth will be held Sunday, May 11, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Lakewood Funeral Home, with A celebration of life to follow at 2:00 PM. Mrs. Mulford will be laid to rest next to her husband at Lakewood Memorial Park.
