

Frances Claudine “Bunny” McKibben passed away December 17, 2020. Bunny was born November 5, 1924 in Calhoun County, Mississippi to John Monroe and Lois Murphree McKibben. After graduating from high school at age 16, she moved to Jackson and began a 53-year career with the Andrew Jackson Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Upon her retirement, she was awarded the Silver Beaver for distinguished service. She spent the next 20 years traveling around the world with her friend and travel buddy, Carolyn Tannehill.
Bunny was an active member of Galloway United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She served as an officer in the Jackson chapter of Pilot International, the Knife and Fork Club and the Murphree Genealogical Association.
Bunny is predeceased by her parents, her brothers, Dale McKibben and Dennis McKibben and her dearest friend, Annelle Jordan. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Margaret McKibben; niece, Julie McKibben Jumper (Mike) of Malakoff, Texas; and nephews, Rob McKibben (Theresa) of Birmingham, Alabama, Doug McKibben (Lou Ann) of Jackson, Mississippi and Chuck McKibben (Erin) of Nashville, Tennessee. She is also survived by her much-loved grand and great-grand nieces and nephews and her McKibben and Murphree cousins.
A private service will be held at Lakewood Cemetery on Monday, December 21. 2020. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Galloway United Methodist Church.
