Genevieve Katherine Saul

September 25, 1922March 17, 2021

It is appropriate that “Genie” Saul, 98, crossed over the river to heaven in time to share St. Patrick’s Day with her family. A celebration of her life will be held Tuesday, March 23, at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Savior Catholic Church in Clinton. Because of Covid 19, the family requests that only immediate family members attend. Thank you for understanding. Burial will follow at the City Cemetery in Ellisville, MS.

Genie was born on September 25, 1922, in Evangeline, Louisiana, and raised in Egan, Louisiana, the daughter of Martin and Alice Sepulvado. She leaves behind sons, George Saul, Thomas (T.K.) Saul (Annie Bess) and Richard Saul (Lucy) and four loving grandchildren, Michael Saul and Hunter Saul of Corinth, and Alex Cockerill and Abby Cockerill, of Brandon and a host of other extended family members.

She was married to Lamar George Saul of Ellisville, MS on Christmas day, 1949. They were married for 59 years before his passing in 2010. She was a resident of Clinton since moving to Lakeview Heights in 1955. She was a respected and loved lady in Clinton and was active throughout her life in organizations and charities. A devout Catholic all her life, Genie was a charter member of Holy Savior Catholic Church in Clinton. She was a member of the Mount Salus Garden Club, winning many ribbons; a member of St. Marys Catholic Church Alter Society; a Holy Savior Catholic Church volunteer; an active member in her sons’ PTA throughout their education in Clinton Public Schools; and a member of the Arrows Booster Club. She was a proud Arrow mom and attended every game her sons participated in, as players and as coaches. Above all her family was her life. Her three sons, all college graduates, made her very proud.

Many thanks to her daughter-in-law, Annie Bess, for her care and companionship throughout her life (“the daughter I always wanted”). In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holy Savior Catholic Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 85, Clinton, MS 39060 or Clinton Main Street, P. O. Box 156, Clinton, MS 39060.
