

On Sunday, September 6, 2026 Glenda Cook Martin passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior. She was at her home with both of her daughters by her side. She was born in Butler County, KY on November 30, 1928 to Wade and Mabel Cook. Glenda was 97 years old and one of nine siblings.
Glenda was married to Leo Merle Martin on June 12, 1944. They left Kentucky because of Leo's job as a Federal Game Agent. Living in Decatur, AL they had 2 daughters, Barbara and Sandra. They were later transferred to Tallahassee, FL, Greenville, MS, and ending up in Clinton, MS. Glenda continued to reside in Clinton from 1970 to the present date.
Glenda is survived by two caring daughters, Barbara Quick (Mike) of Canton, MS and Sandra Verser (Alan) of Hope, AR. She has four loving grandchildren, Martin Quick (Whitney) of Madison, MS; Adam Quick (Brynnen) of Oxford, MS; Alexandra Verser of Hot Springs, AR and Lauren Verser Hall (Joe) of EL Dorado, AR. Glenda also has seven great grandchildren, Fletcher Quick, Leo Quick, Baker Quick, Charlie Quick, Georgia Hall, Julianna Hall and Cannon Hall.
Glenda was preceded in death by her husband and her siblings. Glenda was a faithful member of Morrison Heights Baptist Church for over 56 years. In lieu of flowers she requests that donations be made to the Church Building Fund or a charity of your choice.
Glenda will be remembered with deep respect and affection by all who knew and loved her. Arrangements are pending for her private service.
