

Gwen Stephens Dukes passed away on January 31, 2022, to be with her heavenly Father. She died peacefully in her home in Clinton, MS with her children and other family at her side. She was 94 years old.
She is survived by children Jan Clark (Monty), Jena McNeece (Mark), Lee Dukes (April), and Stan Bulger (Linda), 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by son Stephen Dukes; grandparents Will and Adalee McIntosh, and Daws and Annie Stephens; parents O.L. and Myrtis Stephens; brother Robert Stephens; sister Mary Walters; aunt Margaret Mangum; and other relatives.
She was born in Simpson County, lived in Collins and Sanford, attended Magee High School, and graduated from Draughon’s Business College. She lived for many years in Magee, Forest, and Clinton.
She enjoyed her children, working in her yard, baking, being with friends, making floral arrangements, and caring for the many pets that she raised. She was a friend and supporter of Wolf Pond Sanctuary, a no-kill animal sanctuary, and a member of Pineview Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. with the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on February 4 at Pineview Baptist Church in Clinton, with graveside remembrances at 2:00 p.m. in the Magee Cemetery.
