January 11, 1937 – September 30, 2026
Helen Rose Blackwell Bacon went home to be with her Heavenly Father on September 30, 2026, passing away peacefully at the age of 89.
Born in 1937, in Collins, Mississippi, Helen was the beloved daughter of Warren Andrew Blackwell and Myrtle Henderson Blackwell. She grew up in the community of Station Creek, where she graduated high school in 1955. After attending Jones Junior College, she moved to Jackson, Mississippi in 1956, where she worked for Blue Cross-Blue Shield until her marriage to Joseph Bacon in 1960 and move to New Albany, Mississippi. Helen
gave birth to two sons, JT in 1961, and Andy in 1967. The family moved to Clinton, Mississippi in 1979, where Helen continued to enjoy spending time with her friends and family, baking, antique browsing, and especially caring for her numerous beloved pets.
A loving Mom, sister, grandmother, and friend, Helen lived a life defined by the care she showed to those around her. Known affectionately as the "patron saint of animals," she was a great lover of dogs and cats and cherished many pets throughout her lifetime. Whether she was filling the role of a devoted mother, a supportive sister, a proud grandmother, or a loyal friend, her presence brought warmth and comfort to everyone lucky enough to
know her. Her deep faith and loving spirit will be forever treasured and kept alive in the hearts of all her family and friends.
She is survived by her sons JT Bacon and Andy Bacon, and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her beloved brothers and sisters, and her only grandson.
Helen was cremated and her ashes will remain with her family.
A celebration of life for Helen will be held at a time yet to be determined.
