Helen Callaway Dukes went to be with the Lord on November 21, 2021. A visitation will be held Friday, November 26, from 11:00 a.m.- 1:00 p.m. at Lakewood Funeral Home with a service following at the Pavilion at Lakewood Memorial Cemetery.
Helen was born March 26, 1942 in Kosciusko, Mississippi. She graduated from Kosciusko High School in 1960. Following high school, she moved to Jackson to work with Bell South and retired after 34 years with the now AT&T. She later worked and retired from Mississippi Department of Education and Mississippi Public Broadcasters.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mary Callaway and her husband of 46 years, Carl Dukes.
Helen was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and loving friend. Her greatest joys were her family and close friends. She is survived by her sons, Michael (Michele) Dukes and Scott Dukes; grandsons, Bailey and Riley Dukes; Brother-in law Jimmy Dukes; cousin, Mary Jane Overstreet and a host of special friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Parkway Baptist Church, 802 N. Frontage Road, Clinton, Mississippi, 39056. Her Sunday School Class, The Omega Gordon Class was an important part of her life.
Helen will be laid to rest in Lakewood Memorial Park, 6000 Clinton Blvd, Jackson, MS 39209.
