

Irma Jo Rodgers went to see her Lord and Savior on Monday, April 4, 2016 at Baptist Hospital in Jackson, MS at the age of 79. Visitation will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home from 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon on Thursday, April 14, 2016. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday at 1:00 PM. A graveside service will be held at Harperville Cemetery in Harperville, MS at 3:30 PM on Thursday.
Jo was born on May 2, 1936 in Harperville, MS to the late Douglas and Lois Hall Dodson. JoJo was an extremely talented pianist. Her talents were passed on to many students over her 25 years of teaching. If there is one thing she was passionate about, it was her family. She will always be remembered by her family as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, teacher, and pianist. She was a faithful member of Oak Forest Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, James, Bill, Addie Grace, Wyman, and her dog, Trooper.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Alton "Buddy" Rodgers; daughter, Jeanann Caraway (Mike); sister, Jean Barfield (Jimmy); grandchildren, Taylor, Wesley and Hailey Caraway; niece, Tasha Castiglia and son, Devin Berdin; niece, Amy Dodson Mata (John) and sons, David and Douglas Mata; sister-in-law, Maxine Dodson and niece, Vicki Olier (Ralph); sister-in-law, June Rodgers Fox and nephew, Joel Fox and nieces, Embry Ellen Fox and Mamie Grace Fox.
