

Nick graduated from Union High School in 1948. He remained in touch with his classmates and enjoyed attending class reunions. He met Linda Dianne Casey in 1977 and married her on August 25, 1979, and they were married for over 45 years. He was drafted into the army in 1951 into the 932 Artillery Division, serving during the Korean War.
He loved sports, especially Ole Miss Football games, often coordinating bus groups of fans to attend games on campus. He was employed for over 40 years with the Clarion Ledger Newspaper, retiring in 1993. He enjoyed church, traveling, sports, fishing, and meeting new friends. He never met a stranger he didn’t like.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Casey Nicholson, mother-in-law, Eva Casey, brother-in-law, Tommy Casey, and two dogs named Muffin and Casey, whom he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Irvin and Clora Nicholson, brother and sister-in-law, Wilford and Doris Nicholson, and one nephew, Dale Nicholson.
A visitation for Irvin will be held Wednesday, May 28, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at First Baptist Jackson in the chapel, 431 N State St, Jackson, MS 39201, with a Celebration of Life at 2:00 PM. A committal service will be held at Lakewood Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gideon’s Bible Society, First Baptist Jackson, or a charity of your choice.
