Mike and Janet would have celebrated their 49th anniversary next week.

She enjoyed spending time with them, family BBQ’s, game nights, and any celebration that brought family and friends together. She was strong in her faith and served most of her life at Midway Baptist Church from early childhood until its closing in 2015. She and Mike sought God’s direction as He led them to the faith family at Raymond Road Baptist Church, where they quickly grew to love the body of believers there.

Janet is preceded in death by her parents, her infant brother Charles Robert Burch, Jr., and her beloved sister Rebecca Ellen Burch. She is survived by her husband Gale Michael McAlpin, her son Josh McAlpin and his wife Laura, her daughter Ashley McAlpin Taylor and her husband Johnathan, her precious grandchildren, Caleb Daniel McAlpin, Matthew Isaac McAlpin and Jayden Mackenzie Taylor and her sister-in-law Theressia McAlpin.

Janet loved pretty flowers, but preferred that memorials be made to Raymond Road Baptist Church or The Baptist Children’s Village.

Janet will always be in our hearts and remembered as "Mama Janet" to my children, Justen and Dana. Her sweet smile, patience, and love for children and her family was an inspiration. I loved being around her and Bec=Bec and now they are together with their sweet parents. Mike, just know you, Josh, Ashley and their families will be in my prayers. Anita

Mrs. Janet was a very nice, humbly person. I work in the Clinton School at the Little white House. She was so patience, smiling and always so helpful with our kids. I know she will be missed. She was a JEWEL! Alfenette Robinson ( She told me how she met her husband) SMILE!!!

I was saddened to learn of Janet's passing because I know she will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. I was blessed to work with her during our days together at Northside Elementary in Clinton. Her smile and her kindness won the hearts of both staff members and children whose lives she touched. She was a faithful servant of the God she served and is now at rest with Him forever. My prayers for the family during this difficult time.
