She was a member of Morrison Heights Baptist Church in Clinton, MS. Her favorite things were church, her Sunday school class, family and friends, and reading. Her faith and love for God were evident in her life.
Jean was born in Nashville, TN, the first of three daughters and one son to Dewey Priester and Minnietta Williamson Priester.
Her family was where her heart worked its hardest. She raised her daughter Debbie from childhood with fierce devotion, later adopted and raised Christy with the same unwavering love, and helped raise the grandchildren and great-grandchildren who followed-guiding them with strength, stubbornness, humor, and a heart that wanted only to protect.
Her story is one of faith unshaken, strength unbroken, and love that stretched across generations with a determination only she could carry.
Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband, Samuel E. "Billy" Young; her son-in-law, Mark J. Fisher; her sisters, Sonia Wilson and Nina Elkins; her brother, Dillon Priester; and her nephew, Bruce Godard.
Those carrying her legacy forward include her daughters, Debbie Fisher and Christy Mullen (granddaughter and adopted daughter) of Clinton, MS; grandchildren: Tim Fisher and wife, Michelle, all of Clinton; and Ashley Alford and her husband, Justin, of Ridgeland; great-grandchildren: Shane Pyron and his wife, Jamey; Skyler Jean Mullen; Tabitha and JP Fisher; Sabrina Strasser; Rayme Alford; her great-great-grandchildren: Beckett Pyron; Everett Mullen-McJordan; Maisyn Caffey; Ellie Strasser-Duckworth; and nieces/spouses: Gayle and Marke Robertson; Amy and Chuck Upchurch; Janice and Richie East; Lisa Gray; and Jessica and Dave Riccio.
