Jennifer Lynn James

Jennifer was a graduate of Clinton High School and Hinds Community College. Her steady dedication to learning and service shaped a life marked by purpose and quiet strength.

On May 8, 1992, Jennifer married Mack James in Clinton, MS.

From 1995 to 2006, Jennifer served as a Respiratory Therapist, bringing care and professionalism to work that required both skill and compassion. She later continued her career as an E-learning Distance Coordinator at Hinds Community College from 2006 to 2024, supporting education with diligence and a commitment to helping others succeed.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Virginia Hill Cantrell.

She is survived by her father, Hoyt Cantrell of Prairie, MS; husband, Mack James of Brandon, MS.; sons, Zach James of Pearl, MS and Brett James of Raymond, MS; brothers, Hoyt Cantrell, Jr. of Clinton, MS and Allen Cantrell of Caledonia, MS.; five grandchildren, Jessie, Baby Evie, Rein, Ella Mae and Riley.

Visitation will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home, 6011 Clinton Blvd, Jackson, Mississippi 39209, on June 5, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm. A Celebration of Life will follow at Lakewood Funeral Home on June 5, 2026, beginning at 2:00 pm. A Committal Service will take place at Lakewood Memorial Park.
