John Burley Howell Jr.
April 14, 1922 – January 16, 2012
John Burley Howell, Jr., 89, from Brandon died on Monday. He was born in Mize, Mississippi on April 14, 1922. Mr. Howell was a Captain in the United States Army and a dairy farmer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Burley Howell, Sr. and Minnie Sullivan Howell, and his wife Martha Freeman Howell.
He is survived by his son, John Burley Howell, III of Brandon, and daughters Janis Erikson of Brandon, Mary Beth Allen of Duluth, Georgia, and Betty Hill of Spring Branch, Texas.
Visitation will be at 9:00 a.m. today at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home in downtown Jackson. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Smithdale, Mississippi.
