John wed the love of his life, Betty Withers Smith, on August 1, 1975. He spent several years in the Marine Corp. and spent over 40 years working as a TV repairman.
He is survived by his wife, Betty, and their two children, John W. Smith III (Melissa) and Rebecca Turner (Lee D. Turner II). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Mackenzie Smith, Hunter Smith (Chloe), Neely Turner and Emilee James (EJ) Turner, and great-grandchildren, Oakleigh Smith, Lachlyn Mohon, and Hudson Smith.
There will be a gathering at Lakewood Funeral at 6011 Clinton Blvd on Monday, February 16, at 2:30 pm, with a graveside service to follow at 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in John's name to the Mississippi Food Network.
