Jonathan, a lifetime resident of Jackson, MS and more recently moved to the Byram, MS community, departed this life on November 12, 2021. After a twelve-year battle with Parkinson’s disease, he passed away quietly in his sleep.
Jonathan is survived by his mother, Inez Tullos Loggans; his siblings Ann Loggans Ratliff (Byron), Ronald Davis Loggans, and Jackie Loggans Holloway, (Jeff); and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and a fellowship of lifelong friends.
Jonathan was preceded in death by father, Clarence S. (Jack) Loggans; and his brother, Jerry S. Loggans.
As a child, Jonathan attended a small private school off Raymond Road. Upon graduation, he attended Hinds Junior College, where he studied Liberal Arts. His education provided him the necessary skills to begin a profession as an aid in a Physical Therapy Clinic. He enjoyed not only the daily tasks but his true fulfillment was building relationships with the patients.
He was a dedicated Church member of Capital City Church of God, where he enjoyed working with children and teens. He was a part-time custodian and a full-time leader for the church on a local and statewide level.
Gracious Thank to our nephew, Aaron Loggans (son of Jerry Loggans) and Laura Redd as loyal and loving caregivers to Jonathan for the past two years.
Special thanks to Dr. Mark Anderson, University Medical Center, Neurologist and his staff for many years of care through Parkinson’s. Also, a special thank you to Brandon Nursing and Rehab Center for their care during his rehabilitation after a lengthy hospital stay.
A visitation for Jonathan will be held, Monday, November 15, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Lakewood Funeral Home, Jackson, MS. Following visitation will be a graveside service at 1:00 p.m. at Lakewood Memorial Park, Jackson, MS.
