OBITUARY

Joseph Glascoe

February 17, 1981September 28, 2019

Joseph Andrew Glascoe, 38, was born February 17th, 1981 in Jackson, MS. Joseph had a typical childhood life growing up in Flora. Growing up he played Little League ball which he enjoyed. One of his positions was catcher, that set him up for things to come to the rest of his life. He was a graduate of Madison Central High School. He held various jobs throughout his life and he became a jack of all trades, in the end, he was a handyman. No matter the time, day or night, when someone called needing something done, he went and did it with his smile and his humor. Joseph had several curveballs thrown at him in his short lifetime, but he battled through. On Saturday, September 28th, 2019, he got the most important call he could ever get. He got the call from our Lord telling him he needed a new handyman up in heaven and he wanted Joseph for the job. Joseph said, " I'll be right there". He decided he wanted one last Hoorah here on Earth. He left the house with that in mind, as soon as his Hoorah was over the Angels swooped him up before he got another call for another job. Joseph was a personable young man, very caring and loving. He went out of his way to help others and enjoyed working with his hands and was artistic. He could always make you smile. Josephus (as his nieces and nephews ) called him, was always playing jokes on people. He will truly be missed.

He is preceded in death by his Grandparents Ferdie J. Callegan, Ivy Callegan, and Clarence R. Glascoe, and his two dogs (children) Fella and Hoss. He is survived by his parents Mark Steven Glascoe and Patricia Callegan Glascoe of Flora, MS; brothers Steven A. Glascoe (Andrea) of Brandon, MS and Jeremy A. Glascoe (Amy) of Bentonia, MS; Grandmother Ollie Glascoe (Nan) of Flora, MS and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

There will be a celebration of Joseph's life at the family home. 331 Purvis Rd, Flora , MS on Saturday, October 26, 2019 from 11:00 A.M. on. Anyone who knew Joseph is invited.

Though I only knew Joesph a short time and as a customer at Penns , he always made me and my co-workers laugh. He had a very special way about him. On my downest days he would have me smiling. I will so miss him and his big smile and wit. I saw a white truck pass my drive thru
Today I looked hard wishing it was Joseph. But alas it was not. Hard to believe he will not pass my way again at least on this earth. I will miss you my friend.
Prayers to all.

I worked with Joseph at Hastee Tastee in Flora, Ms. He had a personality like no other and if you were having a bad day Joseph would always tried to make you laugh. He was a good friend and he will be miss. RIP.

I wasn’t as close to you in your younger days as the rest of your cousins being that I’m the oldest. On the other hand the last 5 years we have become much closer. Frequent visits from you to share Purvis Road gossip or ask some questions about an issue with your truck. Sometimes just to say what’s up and hang out for a little while. What ever the reason it was welcome and I never knew how much I’d miss them. I love you cuz and I’ll miss you. Just keep smiling, laughing, and being Joseph. There is not another in this world like you. Till we meet again love you always!!!!!!

Patricia and Mark,

We are so truly sorry. You know we lost our son almost a year ago. The pain and sorrow never leave. There is never a good time to lose a loved one. There is never an easy time. There are no words anyone can say to make it better. We can only be there for each other. We celebrate their life and remember them in our hearts. Hugs, love, and prayers will be with you in the coming days, months, years. If you want to talk. You know where I am, just a few doors down from childhood home. I'm a good listener. Rest in Peace Joseph. You were so loved, by so many.
