Joyce W. Woods, 78 of Clinton, passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2020. Visitation will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home on Saturday, August 22 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM with funeral services to follow in the chapel. Interment will be at Lakewood Memorial Park.

She was preceded in death by her parents Marshall and Margaret Kincaid, sisters, Shirley and Ruth and brothers Claude, Bud and Earl.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years Mike Woods; two daughters Evonne Pope (Ken) of Clinton, MS, and Robin Clark of Clinton, MS; one son Brian Woods (Kristy) of Clinton, MS; two granddaughters Tiffany Fletcher(Drew) of Brandon, MS and Stephanie Pope of Brandon, MS and one grandson Garrett Pope (Jesse) of Brandon, MS; three great-grandsons Bentley Pope, Mason Pope and Rowen Fletcher, and one great-granddaughter Swayze Pope.

She was born in Lenoir, NC on January 13, 1942 and attended Gamewell High School. On October 24, 1959 she married the love of her life Mike Woods. In 1967 they moved to Mississippi where they raised a family and have lived for 53 years.

She enjoyed sewing for her children and grandchildren, reading, working in her yard where she grew beautiful flowers of all kinds. She loved birds especially hummingbirds and red birds. She had a special love for her many animals through the years. She was a devoted Wife, Mother, Nana, Great grandmother and friend and was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

I did NOT expect to see you here. I spent a lot of my kindergarten years at your house with Mickey. I will never forget our very first dance recital... You made our costumes... They were little cross back sun tops with bloomers and mine was orange. I remember your house ALWAYS smelled so nice and it was always spotless. I can not remember you that weren't with a smile and a great giggle. I don't think you ever told us no. I also remember Mrs. Bootsie who lived next door to you. This was a bittersweet finding out for sure.

I remember her coming and spending a Christmas Eve with us and we really enjoyed spending that time with her! She is such a delight to Robin and Tiffany and will be greatly missed!!!♥️
