Kenneth “Kenny” Houston Bush, 73, passed away on November 29, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, generosity, and unwavering kindness. Born on July 4, 1952, in Atlanta, Georgia, Kenny carried an independent spirit and a love of life that stayed with him throughout his years.
Kenny loved fast cars and the thrill of racing, finding pure joy in the roar of an engine and the freedom of the open road. He had a soft spot for Christmas and a heart especially tender toward children in need. He never hesitated to lend a hand, offer support, or quietly step in to help someone who was struggling. Those who knew him were made better by his compassion, his loyalty, and the gentle way he cared for others.
Kenny devoted his life to honoring and continuing his father’s legacy by taking Rebel Butcher Supply Company to the next level. Through dedication and determination, he carried forward the family business with pride and purpose.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia L. Bush, and his father, E. H. Bush. He is survived by his brother, Mike Bush; his daughter, Kristie Bennett; his sons, Matthew Bush and Michael Bush. Kenny was also a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren.
As we say goodbye, we take comfort in the words of Psalm 4:8:
“In peace I will lie down and sleep, for You alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety.”
A Memorial Gathering will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home, located at 6011 Clinton Blvd, Jackson, MS, 39209, on December 6, 2025 at 1:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Kenny’s favorite charity, Samaritan’s Purse. More information can be found at their website: https://www.samaritanspurse.org.
Kenny will be dearly missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
