Lester Saranthus

Mr. Lester Saranthus, 76, went to be with his Savior and Lord on Friday, April 22, 2011 at Hospice Ministries. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 AM Monday, April 25, 2011 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Chapel in Jackson with interment in Bethesda Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 3-6 PM.

Lester was a friend to all of those who had the privilege to know him. He was also a man of strong faith, serving as a deacon in Parkhill Baptist Church and later in Bethesda Baptist Church. Lester’s love for the Lord was evident to all who knew him.

He spent most of his adult life working as an automobile body technician, working for Van-Trow Oldsmobile and later Fowler Buick. However, over the last few years, he enjoyed being a courier for St. Dominic Hospital.

Lester is survived by his wife of 55 years, Betty; his daughters, Debbie Rushing (Dewayne) and Jeannie Farmer (Paul); granddaughter, Amber Pepper (Andy) ; grandson, Michael Rushing (Christina); great grandchildren, Ashlynn, Adelynn, Megan, Austin, Braden and Miley; brother, Jake and sister Annie Lou.
