Linda Diane Angle Harris, age 79, of Jackson, Mississippi, passed away peacefully the morning of May 7th, 2025 while surrounded by family. Born on May 21, 1945, in Providence, Rhode Island, to John Thomas Angle Jr. and Florence Margaret Harding Angle, Linda lived a life filled with love, support, and a deep passion for her family and interests.
Linda graduated from Central High School in Jackson, Mississippi, in 1963.
She embraced motherhood with the arrival of her sons, Bradley Kevin Farris (born February 18, 1970) and Ryan Keith Farris (born September 22, 1973). She was a constant presence in their lives, enthusiastically supporting Ryan's sporting and musical endeavors and enjoying Bradley's archery videos. Following her marriage to Eldridge Harris on July 31, 1981, Linda's joy grew even greater on November 4th with the arrival of their daughter, Ashley Karen Harris. Linda cherished shopping trips and movie outings with Ashley and enjoyed watching her cheer throughout her high school and college years. Her unwavering encouragement was a hallmark of her love for her children.
For many years, Linda dedicated her professional life to Day Detectives, a security company, where she served as a Dunn and Bradstreet accredited bookkeeper. She also enjoyed the dynamic atmosphere of working security for various concerts and events.
Linda possessed love for travel and embarked on numerous travels throughout her life, experiencing the cultures and beauty of Portugal, Spain, Japan, Mexico, The Cayman Islands, Jamaica, and the Bahamas.
A devoted member of Briarwood Baptist Church, Linda was baptized on May 14, 1989, and found strength and community in her faith.
Linda held a special place in her heart for all creatures, great and small, particularly cats and dogs. Her home was a sanctuary for countless stray animals, where she offered them food, shelter, and boundless affection. She also found joy in the simple pleasure of watching hummingbirds frequent the feeders she lovingly maintained.
An avid gardener, Linda's green thumb transformed her home, and during the winter months, her stairway would blossom into a unique indoor jungle, providing a whimsical playground for her children's imaginative games.
Beyond her family, Linda's greatest passion was genealogy research. Over more than three decades, she meticulously traced family histories, not only for her own lineage but also for countless others. Her dedication to this pursuit led her to forge friendships with individuals across the globe.
Linda is survived by her beloved husband of 44 years, Eldridge Boyd Harris Jr.; her sons, Bradley Kevin Farris (Kathy Farris) and Ryan Keith Farris (Kasey Chiz); her daughter, Ashley Karen Harris Young (Brad Young); her granddaughter, Morgan Kaylee Farris Skipper (Sam Skipper); her great-granddaughter, Ava Grace Skipper; and her sister, Sherri Angle Gibson.
