Linda Sant Heflin, a resident of Hazlehurst, MS was called to heaven in the early afternoon of Thursday September 30th, 2021. Linda was born on June 4, 1950 to Myrtis and Eugene Sant and raised in Jackson, MS where she attended Central High school and later graduated in 1968.
Linda was a proud big sister and best friend to her one and only sibling, Barbara Sant Harrell. In the year 1970, she married the love of her life, Homer Heflin. Together they raised their best friend and fur baby, Sally, who was their pride and joy. She was a long-time employee of The Summit Group, a prestigious financial services group in Jackson, MS, where she endlessly succeeded throughout the years. Linda also attended church at Celebration Fellowship Church where she has been a part of the community for years on end.
Linda was survived by her loving mother, Myrtis Sant, sister, Barbara Harrell, nephew, Charlie Harrell and great niece Aleila of Clinton, MS. Great nephew, Charlie Harrell and Great-Great Nephew, Charlie Harrell JR. (CJ) of Chicopee, MA. Sister-in-Love, Linda Faye Roby and a whole lot of family! She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Heflin and father, Eugene Sant.
Linda was an avid cook and could always be found in the kitchen. She did not believe in secret recipes and was always ready to share. She had a strong love for all of her people; her cousins and her life-long friends Sandra Patterson Jackson and Bobbie Warren Channel. A friend to all and a shoulder to lean on, Linda was known for dinners with friends, class reunions, and Sunday lunches at Maw Sant's. With the help of her sister, Linda had lunch ready every Sunday afternoon after church, with enough to feed whoever wanted to come through those doors. You always knew you would be eating good if you go to Maw Sant's house on a Sunday. Linda had a strong Needless to say, Linda was a steppingstone in her family. A daughter, big sister, and best friend to many.
Visitation services will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home, 6011 Clinton Blvd, Jackson, Mississippi 39209 from 12 to 2P.M. Monday October 4th. Funeral services will follow at 2P.M. officiated by Reverend David Moore. She will be laid to rest next to her husband, Homer Heflin. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you make donations to a charity of your choice or to Celebration Fellowship Church (101 Stokes Robertson Rd. Jackson, MS 39212).
