Lola was preceded in death by her father, Charles Dugger; her mother, Lucy Ivey Dugger; her husband, Edwin D Waddell and great granddaughter, Aubree Goodwin.
On January 10, 1954, Lola married Edwin D Waddell at Calvary Baptist Church in Jackson, MS. In the years that followed, they later became members of Grace Baptist Church in Clinton, MS, where her steady faith and quiet devotion were reflected in a life marked by constancy, dignity, and care for others.
Lola built a life of dependable work and conscientious service, holding positions as a secretary with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Retail Credit Co., and Equifax. In each role, she was known for her reliability and the composed, thoughtful way she carried responsibility—offering calm competence and consideration in the daily work that so often supports everyone around it.
She is survived by her daughters, Cathy Nash (Barry), Peggy Blankenship (Jerry), and Debbie Goodwin (Tony); her grandchildren, Cara Hataway (John), Jamie Hudson (Tanner), Jerry Blankenship, Jr. (Victoria), Jonathan Blankenship (Kasey), Thomas Goodwin Jr (Andrea), and Zachary Goodwin (Anna); and her great-grandchildren, Abigail Hudson, Annabeth Hudson, William Hataway, Nash Hudson, Ivey Ann Blankenship, Emma Blankenship, Sims Blankenship, Henley Blankenship, Memphis Starkey, Chandler Goodwin, Remi Goodwin, Eleanor Simmons, Oliver Goodwin, and Juniper Goodwin.
Lola will be remembered with deep respect and gratitude—for the life she built, the family she loved, and the steadfast presence she offered through the years.

Visitation will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home, 6011 Clinton Blvd, Jackson, Mississippi on May 2, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm with a service to follow at 2:00 pm. Interment at Lakewood Memorial Park.
