Marian Lois Hankins

Marian Lois Hankins, 82, passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 in Jackson, MS. She was born on May 9, 1933 in Kirkwood, Missouri to the late Arthur David Braun and Zelma Ziern Braun. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Lakewood Funeral Home from 9:00 am to 10:00 am. A graveside service will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park at 10:00 am.

She and her husband, James Aubrey Hankins, Sr. are the founders of the Jim Hankins Air Service, Inc. that has been in business since 1958. Marian started a foundation for battered women known as Born Free.

She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, James Aubrey Hankins, Sr.; children, James A. Hankins, Jr., Michael S. Hankins, Roger W. Hankins, Arthur D. Hankins and Laura Hankins Daniel; siblings, Arthur “Sonny” Braun, Betty Braun Potts, and Lillian Braun Graves; grandchildren, Bruce Moss, Christopher Hankins, Lindsay Hankins Woodrow, Matthew Hankins, Adam Hankins, Nick Hankins, Ashley Daniel Sherman, Natalie Hankins Lacour, Amber Hurtado, James A. Hankins, III, Hunter Hankins and Nathan Hankins; and she was blessed with 17 great-grandchildren.
