Marilyn Jean (Hawkins) Milstead, age 80, was called home by her Lord on Thanksgiving Day, November 27, 2014 at Point Lookout Nursing and Rehab in Branson, Missouri. A former resident of Clinton and Jackson, she was born on October 11, 1934 in Bolton, MS to the late Mary Etta (Gill)and Revis Lee Hawkins, Sr. She is survived by her brothers, Kendall Hawkins (Nancy) of Branson, MO and Revis Hawkins, Jr. (Leona) of Clinton, MS and her son, Kenneth Milstead (Kris) of New Orleans, LA. She was a devoted and loving mother, sister and daughter. She loved her nieces and nephews.
Marilyn graduated from Hinds High School and Hinds Community College, Raymond, MS. She retired from Mississippi Employment Security Commission after 24 years of service and from Dillard's after 16 years. She was a member of Morrison Heights Baptist Church, a former member of Alta Wood Baptist Church, and a member of the Eastern Star.
Funeral services will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home, Clinton Blvd in Jackson, MS on Saturday, December 6 at 1:00 pm with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park.
