Mrs. Mary Frances Edwards Broome passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at the Highland Home in Ridgeland. Visitation will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home on Monday, May 11, 2015 from 1:30-2:30 PM. A graveside service will be held at Lakewood Memorial Park on Monday at 2:30 PM.
Mrs. Broome was born in Pine Valley, MS on September 19, 1924 to the late Eula and Nannie V. Collins Edwards. She was raised in Bruce, MS and graduated from Bruce High School. She worked for over 40 years as an accountant at Capital Barber and Beauty Supply. Mrs. Broome was a member of Galloway United Methodist Church in Jackson.
She is survived by nephews, Gary Eugene Edwards and William Joel Edwards, Jr.; nieces, Patricia Edwards Booth, Donna Edwards, Judy Edwards Fogg, Pamela Nan Edwards, Lisa Countiss Edwards; sisters-in-law, Betty Hardin Edwards and Dott Countiss Edwards; 9 great nieces and nephews; 7 great-great nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Broome is preceded in death by her husband, John Elmer “Lew” Broome; parents; brothers, Robert Eugene “Gene” Edwards, William Joel “Billy” Edwards, Corbert “Collins” Edwards.
