Mrs. Mary Frances Slaughter, 95, passed away on Monday, November 2, 2015 at The Catherine House in Ocean Springs, MS. Visitation will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home on Thursday, November 5, 2015 from 10:30 AM to 12 Noon. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel at Noon with interment to follow at Lakewood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Slaughter was born on September 27, 1920 in Lexington, MS to the late, W.H. Fincher, Sr. and Lillie Howell Fincher. Mary Frances was a retired school teacher and faithful member of Van Winkle Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Slaughter; parents; and her brother and sister.
Mrs. Slaughter is survived by her sons, James “Mike” Slaughter and William “Bill” Slaughter (Bethany); daughter, Jan Slaughter Stringer (Terry); daughter-in-law, Bobbie Slaughter; grandchildren, Sherra Slaughter Weaver (Jay), Nathan Slaughter (Laurie King Slaughter), Mickey Slaughter, April Slaughter Smith (Philip), Will Stringer (Shannon Gray Stringer), Andy Stringer, Susanna Stringer Thornton (Rob); and 7 great grandchildren.
