

Mary graduated from Hattiesburg High School and later married the love of her life, Thomas White. They would move to Jackson, MS where they were faithful members of Daniel Memorial Baptist Church. She worked for the Jackson Police Department's Juvenile Division as a secretary. And she would later return to Petal, MS and become a member of Eastabuchie Baptist Church.
Mary served on many committees and in many roles of the churches she attended through the years and she enjoyed spending time with her Sunday School friends arranging flowers, decorating for special events and their many activities.
She was also a member of the Eastern Star. During her many years of service in the Forest Hill Chapter, she served as a Worthy Matron.
Mary loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them whether that included cooking, fishing at Eagle Lake, or spending summers on the coast.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Thomas, and her brother James Blakeney. She is survived by her children Sherry Carpenter (Kevin) of Carthage and Robert White (Jody) of Folsom, LA. She is also survived by her brother, Jay Blakeney; three grandsons, Blake Carpenter, Mason White, and John Robert White; and a great granddaughter, Addison Carpenter.
A Graveside Service will be held at Lakewood Memorial Park South, 430 MCCLUER RD, JACKSON, MS 39212, US, on May 11, 2026, from 11:00 am.
