Mrs. Sullivan was born in Dermott, AR on July 23, 1938. She grew up in Jackson, MS where she attended Provine High School. She then went to Millsaps College, where she was a Kappa Delta while earning her Bachelor of Arts degree. It was there that she fell in love with musical theater and her future husband Johnny Sullivan, the two were married in 1961. After graduation the couple moved to Hattiesburg, MS to attend the University of Southern Mississippi where she earned her Master of Arts degree.
Once back in Jackson, Nancy settled into raising her sons and creating a loving home. In her free time, she taught Speech, Theater, History, and English at both High School and College levels. She loved many things: travel, gardening, musical theater, and spending time with her family and friends.
Mrs. Sullivan is survived by her husband of 61 years, Johnny Sullivan; her sons, Kevin (Leslie) Sullivan and Sean (Suzanne) Sullivan; grandchildren, Brennen and Gwendolyn Sullivan; her brother, David (Joan) Boyd; her nieces, Meghan (Mike) Cottrell, Katie (Dave) DeFeo; great nephews, Ben and Henry and a great niece, Frankie.
Visitation will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home on Friday, January 21 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM with a committal service to follow at Lakewood Memorial Park.
