Nancy Lamon Sills Whittington, 82, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2024. Nancy was born in Jackson Mississippi on February 19, 1942, to the late Lamon and Cora Sills. She is also pre-deceased by her sister Bettye Ruth Nicholson.
Nancy is survived by her husband Clarence Whittington to whom she has been married for 63 years, her children Brett (Brenda), Bart, Christie (Pat), grandchildren - Matthew (Michael), Cassie (Daniel), Megan (Rob), Makenzie (Connor), Davis (Rylie) and great grandchildren - Sawyer, Sylas and Stella.
We would like to express our gratitude to the staff of The Oaks – Scenic View Assisted Living complex, the hospice care staff at The Oaks, the staff at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Fresenius Kidney Care dialysis clinic, to mom’s medical team and to all the transport staff for their care.
Lastly, to Ms. Linda, mom’s roommate at The Oaks, thank you for your compassion and for staying with mom until the end.
A visitation for Nancy will be held Wednesday, August 21, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Lakewood Funeral Home, followed by a celebration of life at 2:00 PM. Nancy will be laid to rest in Lakewood Memorial Park.
