Naomi "Tootsie" Magers, 95, passed away on Monday, January 7, 2019 at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. A graveside service will be held at Lakewood Memorial Park on Wednesday, January 9 at 10:00 AM.
Ms. Magers was born on March 2, 1923. She grew up in the Smokey Mountains where she acquired a life-long love for camping. She was a member of Lakeshore Congregational Methodist Church. She was a former President of WMU and a devoted Sunday school teacher at First Baptist Church in Morton, MS. She had a passion for cooking and sewing, but above all she loved her family and the Lord.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Orban Magers; parents, Charles Clarence and Naomi Mills Cowan; and son, Charles “Sonny” Magers.
Ms. Magers is survived by her son, Jerry Magers (Dale); daughter, Rachel Gunn (Andy); daughter-in-law, Wanda Magers; sisters, Ruth Renegar and Betty Alice Carroll (Dan); 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
