Odessa McAndrews Anderson. Born in Hidleburg, MS July 14, 1928, to Thomas Daniel and Candies Ellzey McAndrews. She was a devout Baptist, and attended Raymond Road Baptist Church in Jackson, Mississippi, where she also worked in the day care. She worked at Morrison Heights Baptist Church taking care of the babies in the daycare until illness forced her retirement at age 84. At 86 years of age, she moved to Texas to live with her son and daughter-in-law, where she was living at the time of her death.
She was married to Travis Anderson for 47 years, until his death in 2007. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Travis; brothers Thomas D McAndrews, Nolan McAndrews, and Daniel Ray McAndrews; sisters Ouida Abercrombie and Olene Rawls. She is survived by her brother E. C. McAndrews of Natchez and sister Evelyn Akins of Canton; son Terry (Madonna) of Santa Fe, Tx; grandchildren Travis (Emily), Jacob and Grace; great-grandchild Emitt; multiple nieces and nephews and some very good friends.
