Orville Everette Palmer passed away August 3, 2011 at the Mississippi State Veterans Home in Jackson, MS. He was born on September 12, 1922 in Winston County, Mississippi and served four years in the United States Army in England during World War II. In 1948 he married Margaret Hunt and had two children, Herman and Rebecca. Mr. Palmer earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Mississippi State University in 1950 and then served as an electrical engineer with IBM from 1950 to 1984. He was a founding member of Oak Forest Baptist Church in Jackson, MS and was a member of Lakeshore Baptist Church in his final years. He is survived by his daughter, Rebecca Harris, her husband Daniel, three grandchildren, Aidan, Laura and Benjamin Duncan, and one step grandson, Jordan Harris.

Visitation will be Saturday, August 6, 2011 from 2:00-4:00pm at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Jackson. Funeral services will be at 4pm Saturday in the funeral home chapel with interment to follow at Lakewood South Cemetery.
