Ouida George Ramsey

Mrs. Ouida Ramsey, 93, born January 21, 1924 in Jackson, Mississippi to Leslie and George Cook. She attended Central High School and graduated in 1941 and continued her post-secondary education at Belhaven College and Louisiana College. Before retiring, she was employed with the State Department of Health, Division of Radiological Health. Mrs. Ramsey was a member of Parkhill Baptist Church.

Mrs. Ramsey was preceded in death by her late husbands, Rev. D. Earl George and Kenneth Ramsey; two sons, David Carey George and Daniel Cook George; her parents, George and Leslie Cook; and step-daughter, Sandra Ramsey.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathy (Edward Acey, Jr.) Vines; son, Timothy Earl (Judy) George; step-sons, Dr. Kenneth (Kathy) L. Ramsey and Dr. Charles (Janice) Ramsey; grandchildren: Scott (Ashley) Vines; Kenny (Lesley) Vines; Matthew (Jessica) George; Joshua (Rebecca) George; Joshua Ramsey; Courtney Curtis; and Kenneth Ramsey; and 10 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home on Friday, July 21, 2017 at 2:00 PM with visitation one hour prior. Interment will be at Lakewood Memorial Park.
