She was a devoted wife to the late Charles Lane Putt and a loving mother to her three children and was blessed by two sons-in-law and one daughter-in-law: Cindy and her husband Steve Mooney; Kerry and his spouse Mechelle Putt; and Sonya and her husband Charlie Perry.. She was also a proud and cherished grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She was blessed with 8 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren — a legacy of love that continues to grow.
She is survived by her siblings Jackie Davis and Kay Grissom of Escatawpa, Mississippi. And while we grieve her absence, we find peace in knowing that she is now reunited with so many loved ones who passed before her — resting in the arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Peggy lived a full and beautiful life. She was a gifted seamstress — always creating, always crafting. Her hands were rarely still. Whether she was sewing, decorating, working in her garden, or designing something special for her home, she poured her heart into everything she did. Her flower beds were a thing of beauty — a reflection of the care and joy she brought into the world.
But more than anything, Peggy loved people. She loved gathering with her family and friends. She loved sharing meals, laughter, stories — and those sweet giggles we’ll never forget. She had a quiet strength and a deeply rooted faith. Her kindness and compassion touched everyone she met. She carried herself with grace and lived out her Christian values every day — not just in words, but in how she loved and served others.
She was the heart of our family — the one who held us all together. A true matriarch.
She was always there with a warm hug, a thoughtful word, and unwavering support. She made each of her grandchildren feel special, known, and deeply loved. And her legacy will live on in each of us — in how we love, how we gather, how we support one another, and how we walk with God.
Losing someone so dear is never easy. We’ll miss her voice. We’ll miss her laugh. We’ll miss the way her smile could light up a room. But we carry her with us — in our hearts, in our memories, in the lessons she taught us, and the love she gave so freely.
