Peggy Purvis Johns

Mrs. Peggy Johns, 72, passed away on Friday, September 11, 2015 at her home in Brandon, MS. Visitation will be Sunday, September 13, 2015 from 2 to 5 PM and Monday from 10 to 11 AM at Lakewood Funeral Home, 6011 Clinton Blvd, Jackson, MS. 39209. Service will be held Monday 11 am in the funeral home chapel with interment to follow at Lakewood Memorial Park.

Mrs. Johns was born in White Oak, MS on May 14, 1943 to the late Burl and Flora Sullivan Purvis. She loved working in her yard and decorating. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and reading her Bible.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Bill Purvis, sisters, Charlie Hannan and Lucille Richardson.

Mrs. Johns is survived by her husband of 45 years, Truman Virgil Johns, who cared for her for many years and never left her side; daughters, Kimberly Britt (Ronnie) of Byram, MS and Wendy Branigin and fiance Tommy Williams of Brandon, MS; grandchildren, Thomas Branigin, Reagan Britt and Amanda Branigin; brothers, Jim Purvis (Janet) and Ben Purvis (Catherine); sister, Leoda Nowell; brother-in-law, Bruce Johns.
