Phillip A. Reel

Phillip A. Reel, 67, passed away on July 18, 2026. Born to John and Betty Reel on September 21st 1958. Phillip was raised in Jackson, Mississippi, where he developed a lifelong love for family, music, craftsmanship, and classic cars.

On June 17, 1989, he married the love of his life, Brenda Reel. Together they built a life centered on love, family, and countless memories.

Phillip was a gifted craftsman who had an incredible talent for building houses and restoring classic cars. He proudly owned and operated a commercial painting company alongside his son, Phillip, where his strong work ethic, attention to detail, and dedication earned the respect of everyone who knew him.

A true classic car enthusiast, Phillip loved restoring cars, building model cars, and spending weekends attending car shows. He was also an exceptionally talented guitarist with a passion for classic rock. Whether playing on stage or at home, those who knew him often said he could outplay just about anyone. Throughout the years, he was a member of several bands and found great joy in sharing his musical talents with others.

Phillip’s greatest joy in life was his family, but his greatest peace came through his faith in Jesus Christ. He was a faithful member of Hickory Ridge Baptist Church, where he accepted Christ as his Savior and was baptized on March 8, 2026. His faith became the cornerstone of his life and brought him comfort, hope, and strength.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Betty Reel; his sisters, Gladys Howell and Janie Harvey; and his brothers, John Reel, Frankie Reel, Marvin Reel, Charles Reel, Jerry Reel, and Sonny Reel.

Phillip is survived by his beloved wife, Brenda Reel; his sons, Phillip Reel (Sharon) and Brian Clark; his brother, Joe Reel (Glynda); his sisters, Bobbie Wolfe, Shirley Williams, Kathy May (Donald), and Betty Horton (George); his grandchildren, Taylor Clark (Cody), Brianna Watkins (Tristan), Evan Clark, Adalynn Clark, and Christopher Reel; Step grandchild; Ayla Tolbert his great-grandchildren, Kennedy Lovett, Braxton Watkins, and Amelia Watkins; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Phillip will be remembered for his generous heart, unmatched craftsmanship, incredible musical talent, and deep love for his family. Above all, he will be remembered for the faith he found in Christ and the example of perseverance, kindness, and love that he left behind. Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy will live on through the lives he touched and the family who loved him so dearly.
