Richard was born in Chicago, IL on October 30, 1934, the son of Cleo A. and Natalie Faye Lybarger. He had one older sister, Gloria. Richard graduated from Millsaps College in 1957 and later earned a Master of Arts in 1969 from the University of Mississippi. Richard was a long-time resident of Jackson, Ms. A gifted linguist, he taught German at Belhaven University.
Richard was preceded in death by his father and mother and by his sister. His burial service will be at noon on August 8 at Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson, MS. In lieu of flowers, his request was that donations be made to Belhaven University.
