

Rosemary East, 95, of Clinton, Mississippi, passed away on September 4, 2026. Born on August 31, 1931, Rosemary lived a life marked by steady devotion to family, faith, and the quiet daily work of caring for others.
A teacher at Hillcrest Christian School, Rosemary approached her vocation with patience and purpose, offering guidance with the kind of consistency that leaves a lasting imprint. She was also a faithful member of Providence Presbyterian Church in Clinton, MS, where her presence reflected a life grounded in reverence and enduring commitment.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Harry East; and her parents, James Andrew Johnson and Mary Hardage Johnson. She is survived by her son, Jeff East; her daughter, Kim Montgomery (Arthur); her grandchildren, Jill Harris (Joel), Kristy Montgomery, and Tyler Montgomery (Christina); and her great-grandchildren, Addison Harris and Ava Marie Harris.
In the rhythms of home, Rosemary found joy in simple and generous pursuits. She loved gardening, and she was known for cooking and baking—especially pies and cakes—offering comfort and welcome through meals thoughtfully prepared and sweetly shared.
Visitation will be held at Lakewood Funeral Home, 6011 Clinton Blvd, Jackson, Mississippi 39209, on September 7, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. A Funeral Service will follow at Lakewood Funeral Home on September 7, 2026, at 11:00 am. A Committal Service will be held at Brantley Cemetery in Madden, MS, on September 7, 2026, at 2:00 pm.
