Rusty was born in Jackson, MS on January 9, 1964, and celebrated his 61st birthday just three weeks ago. He is the son of Freddie Fraiser of Clinton, MS and the late Russell Fraiser. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Dewey and Ruby Gibbons, and Mitchell and Mildred Fraiser.
He is survived by his sister, Jana Westling (Carl) of Madison, MS and his brother, Brook (Anja) of Charlotte, NC.
Rusty graduated from Mississippi Baptist High School and studied at Mississippi State University.
We should all be so lucky to have friends as Rusty had in one of his best friends, Tee (Tediarn Jiles), who spent most of their free time together boiling shrimp and crawfish, and grilling on Rusty’s home patio equipped with TVs, fire pit, and infrared heaters, tuned into the latest sports games, especially MSU, with Jett and Belle, his cats, nearby. Rusty also enjoyed travelling together with friends to see live games and always seemed to have something planned.
Rusty was a sales associate with Anderson Enterprises for the past eleven years, and while he loved his job, he was counting down the days until his retirement in February 2026.
Rusty is survived by his nieces and nephews: Joshua Westling of Flora, MS; Andrew Westling of Gluckstadt, MS; Anna Westling Ingram (Lance) of Memphis, TN; and Lena Fraiser and Spencer Watson of Charlotte, NC. Rusty adored his nieces and nephews and frequently showered them with MSU gear. He is also survived by a great niece, Maggie Ingram, of Memphis, TN, numerous cousins and longtime friends.
A visitation will be held on February 8, 2025, at 10 a.m., and a service will be held at 11 a.m. at Lakewood Funeral Home in Jackson, MS. Please honor Rusty’s love of sports and Mississippi State University by wearing maroon, your favorite MSU or other sports team attire.
If you would like to honor Rusty, his love of cooking and Jett and Belle, in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your local animal shelter or food pantry.
