Born on August 3, 1943, in Seminary, Mississippi, she was the beloved daughter of Thomas and Mildred Kitchens.
In 1962, she married the love of her life, Jerry Brock. Together they built a home filled with love and raised three children. Sandra found joy in caring for her family, tending her home and garden, serving her church family, and listening to Elvis Presley. She never met a stranger and had a gift for making everyone feel welcome and loved. Whether through a kind word, a thoughtful gift, or simply being there when someone needed her, she spent her life caring for others.
Sandra will be remembered for her sweet spirit, generous heart, unwavering love for her family, and the countless lives she touched through her kindness. To those who knew and loved her best, she was simply “Nanny.”
She is survived by her devoted husband, Jerry Brock, who affectionately called her “Sandy”; her children, Allen Brock (Kim), Sherry, and Tara, who called her Mama; her grandchildren, Laura Sullivan (Terry), Kristin Dicken (Tony), Autumn Swoboda (Tex), and Casey Roach (Emily); and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, all of whom lovingly knew her as Nanny.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Mildred Kitchens, and her beloved sister, Mary Foley (Paul).
A graveside service will be held at Lakewood Memorial Park on Saturday, June 27th at 2:00 in the afternoon.
Though our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing that Sandra’s legacy of love, faith, and kindness will live on through the family and friends she cherished so dearly.
