

She married Ralph Ellis Dyer on February 4, 1947, in Birmingham, Alabama. She married Fred Ferguson on August 21, 1999, in Raymond, Mississippi.
She graduated from Phillips High School in 1945. Following her graduation from high school, she continued her education by entering Dental Hygienist School, subsequently becoming a dental hygienist and working for Dr. C.M. Burrham and the VA Hospital. She received several awards for excellence during her service for the VA hospital. Sara had a passion for helping and caring for others, which included her teaching dental hygienist students, volunteering at Hinds General Hospital, and supporting multiple generations of her family. She was a faithful servant of the Lord and an avid church member and supporter.
As the caring matriarch of her family, Sara was driven to love, provide, and always be present for her family, friends, and animals over the years. She enjoyed and took pride in making clothing, quilts, and accessories for her loved ones to use.
Sara is survived by her loving family including daughter Becky Tilton, son Sonny Dyer (Beverly Kirksey), and daughter Beth Sullivan; grandchildren: Ryan (Jaclyn) Dyer, Rachel (John) McHann, Wade, Ava Claire, Martha Shock, Buddy (Megan) Sullivan, Bridget (Michael) Gonzalez, Crystal Fullilove, Melissa (Jack) Harrison, Jessica Daniel, Jeremy (Kim) Walters, Jonathan (Melissa) Walters, Richard Baum, and Mark Baum; great-grandchildren: Tabatha Baum, Harper and Hazel Sullivan, Audrey and Michael Gonzalez, Joshua Fullilove, Keegan and Jackson Harrison, Hunter, Peyton (Emily), and Hayden Daniel, Logan, Aiden and Rose Walters, Jonathan Jr., and McKenzie Walters; she is also survived by her many nephews and nieces, and many friends.
Sara is preceded in death by husbands Ralph Ellis Dyer and Fred Ferguson; her sisters and brothers, son-in-law Loyd Sullivan, son-in-law and daughter-in-law Bill & Jennie Ferguson.

A visitation for Sara will be held Friday, January 17, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Lakewood Funeral Home, 6011 Clinton Blvd, Jackson, Mississippi 39209, followed by a celebration of life at 11:00 AM. Sara will be laid to rest in Lakewood Memorial Park.
